Shakespeare's Birthday n' all

Happy St George's Day!! A day to celebrate all things English.

This royal throne of kings, this scepter'd isle,

This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,

This other Eden, demi-paradise,

This fortress built by Nature for herself

Against infection and the hand of war,

This happy breed of men, this little world,

This precious stone set in the silver sea,

Which serves it in the office of a wall,

Or as a moat defensive to a house,

Against the envy of less happier lands,

This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England

William Shakespeare, Richard II, Act 2

Have a great weekend, everyone.

Dear Other Half
Thanks for the comment. They don't call me the Bard of Wiltshire for nothing you know....oh, okay, so they don't call me that at all but a bit of Shakespeare is never a bad thing :-)

Dori, when you want to remember me, this is the poem (about friendship) that I love most in this world, I do not know if I'm putting the correct translation, but I know he'll understand:

I asked a wise,
that was the difference
between love and friendship,
he told me this truth ...
Love is more sensitive,
Friendship safer.
Love gives us wings
Friendship the ground.
In Love is more caring,
Friendship in understanding.
Love is planted
and lovingly cultivated,
Friendship comes cheek,
and the exchange of joy and sorrow,
becomes a great and dear
companion.
But when the love is sincere
it comes with a great friend,
and when the friendship is real,
It is full of love and affection.
When you have a friend
or a great passion,
both feelings coexist
inside your heart.
William Shakespeare

Cheers!
